Ever wonder why couldn’t we evolve, advance, spawn gadgets or exalt our skills?

People face many challenges such as lack of personal development, lack of financial success, lack of business success, etc. And each challenge is followed by a specific reason. Lack of creativity is common in all these problems. To know more details, first, let us understand what is creativity?

So basically, what is creativity?

Creativity is doing ordinary things extraordinarily well and conjuring uniqueness in our work. It’s our approach to the problems we encounter. It hinges on how far we can think of a specific situation and give life to it. Creativity leads to innovation and innovation to discoveries. Lack of creativity is what keeps us away from innovation.

“Creativity is a combined force: it’s our ability to tap into our ‘inner’ pool of resources, knowledge, insight, information, inspiration, and all the fragments populating our minds that we’ve accumulated over the years just by being present and alive and awake to the world and to combine them in extraordinary new ways.”

                                                                                                     -Maria Popova, Brain Pickings.

Everyone is born innovative, but some people stay that way and others lose it. Why do we lack creativity and lose it in between? The answer is simple. Let’s find out!

Why are people not creative?

Not acting is the most common reason for not being creative because the creation itself is a process of two basic steps that are: imagination and implementation. People do imagine, but do not act on it so in this case, they are imaginative but not creative. They must face their problems and fears to act upon their thoughts to see the results. The most considerable reason behind lack of creativity is our Faulty Curriculum. The curriculum of our educational system is not making students creative rather they focus on cramming. Also, the reason behind our failure is an amateur orientation towards our errand. We limit our imagination and confine it within certain boundaries. This often leads to languid performance in our work. Another reason for not being creative is that we don’t put the required perfection in our work. Every task demands proper time and brainstorming. Brainstorming inspires students to think out of the box. Students often jump-start with their assigned tasks without brainstorming. This leads to uninspired, uninventive, and meaningless solutions.

“The secret of getting things done is to Act.”

                  -Dante Alighieri

How to boost creativity?

Yes, it can be learned. As mentioned above, everyone is born creative, but sometimes the path we take is rough which makes us lose an important asset in the course. Well! It’s not something that can’t be developed. It’s a matter of perspective and manifestation. Creativity can be ameliorated by.

  1. Brainstorm

It is just a simple technique to improve your creativity all you have to do is:

  • Write down your task on a paper and then review it.
  • Try different ideas and solutions for the problem, no matter how the solutions come up, just incorporate them.
  • Continue thinking and writing solutions for at least 25 minutes.
  • Once you are done with brainstorming, draw a road map and think about possible outcomes.

2. Freewriting

Another method like brainstorming is a free writing technique. In this process:

  • Rather than considering a problem and a solution you must choose any interesting or random topic.
  • Narrow it down to a specific topic, one that is coherent.
  • Then right on it as much as possible just to simmer up new ideas.
  • Do it for 25 minutes.
  • Let your thoughts flow in a stream, pick things following the process.

Conclusion

So, creativity is the center of everything. The eyes are worthless when the mind is blind. Try new things and be genuine with our tasks. Creativity has become an important aspect that can assist us in everything we do and any field we choose. The mind induces creative juices, it’s just we have to amend it and use it.

“The mind is everything. What you think you become.”
