Every football anxiously waits for only one day 20 November, where journey towards world glory begins. Every nation and football fan is excited for the biggest event in sporting history. This blog is beneficial to those who want a brief overview of the tournament and have an analysis of the whole tournament. This tournament is very special and sentimental in terms of legends retiring as football world bids adieu to some of the biggest football stars. CR7 and LM10 the two goats of the sport might play their last world cup and this fact is a hard pill to swallow for us fans but every good thing has to end one day. The beautiful game is in debt to them and fans thank them for making this such a wholesome sport.
Moving on, the tournament is being played on the standard format. Teams are divided into groups of 8, each group of 4.
We can see each group is pretty tough, in most of the groups top spot is clean swept with 1 giant in the group but 2nd place is the spot where fight will get the most interesting for example in group B England as a giant might be favorite for the top spot but no one can certainly say which team will take second spot. Same goes with most of the groups.
Talking about giants, although Germany pack a strong midfield with likes of tony kroos, goretzka, kimmich etc. decent defense with sule and rudiger but injury of werner have left them vulnerable in attack as the side clearly lacks a true poacher. France, previous winners, have a great team solid defense but wing backs might trouble them. Their midfield is rather new starring both Real Madrid rising stars Tchouameni and Camavinga and as expected attack is loaded with experience and class as well as young energy. A solid team overall. Brazil, a team with big names but rather uncertain with some out of form players, older players but still can prove to be big contenders with their attack strength. Spain is also a decent team with decent defense a magical midfield with young Gavi but attack might be problematic with not much experience and lacking proper striker. Netherlands might amaze with their return after one world cup. Netherlands have a good CB duo and some big names in their team such as dejong and depay. Croatia, last time underdogs might give a fight this season too. Their defense might be a little weak but their midfield is strong and deep with a world-class attack. Everybody knows how much squad depth England possess. It is a never ending tunnel of players with 3 contenders at each position. Not too miraculous midfield but a solid defense and attack makes up for it. Overall a dangerous team. Nobody can neglect Belgium, number 2 in FIFA rankings. They pack a giant in net, wondrous back line, power packed mid, and star studded attack. Truly, the most complete team in this world cup. The team to look out here for is Argentina with 35 matches unbeaten streak. A team under leader ship of scaloni has produced miraculous results. The team might not seem as star studded but each player compliments other. The legendary Messi himself captains and runs the team. Uruguay cannot be ignored in this reference. A team to look forward to in this world cup as they consist of two deadly strikers a great midfield and a solid defense. At last, let’s talk about the team that I am rooting for, Portugal. Another strong team with wall of steel defense, a decent mid and a robust attack with the mean machine Ronaldo leading the team and fortifying the attack along with names like felix, bernardo silva, Bruno, Pepe, Cancelo etc. (I wish Portugal wins!)
Small teams are not to be taken for granted Senegal, Cameroon, USA, Iran, Canada etc. They all pack a punch. Senegal might lose their edge because of Sadio Mane injury. But all teams will give their 100 percent and should not be considered out of race yet. South Americans like Mexico and Uruguay might not seem that big of a deal but they can haunt title contenders. Denmark is another pretty dangerous team reaching semis in the euros. In short, no one can predict who can win Messi and Ronaldo fans hope their respective national teams win because it is their last world cup. Other nations are also willing to give their blood and sweat for the glory at the end only that team will be champion which strives the most.
