History of Pakistan Day:
Pakistan Day or Pakistan Resolution Day, also known as Republic Day, is a national holiday in Pakistan that calls remembrance of adoption of Pakistan’s first constitution on March 23, 1956, making Pakistan the world’s first Islamic republic. The Muslim League held its annual session from March 23 to 25, 1940, at Minto Park in Lahore, Punjab. The Muslim League, led by Muhammad Ali Jinnah and other Founding Fathers, narrated the events surrounding the differences between Hindus and Muslims that cemented the formation of a nation-state in South Asia known as Pakistan, despite the fact that it made no mention of Pakistan.
How is Pakistan Day celebrated in Pakistan every year?
On Pakistan Day, there are a few major events that take place each year. Islamabad hosts the primary event, which includes military and civilian parades. In attendance is Pakistan’s President, who bestows military and civilian medals on persons who have made significant contributions to the country. With the laying of wreaths, music, and prayers, a tribute is paid to Pakistan’s founder, Muhammad Ali Jinnah.
Not only is Pakistan Day celebrated in Pakistan, but it is also celebrated globally! Every year, the largest Pakistan Day Parade in North America is conducted in New York City to celebrate the occasion. Many Pakistani communities in Canada also organize festivals and events to celebrate this significant day. Because Pakistan Day is a national holiday, people normally spend the day with their friends and family to celebrate the country’s rich heritage!
How can we celebrate Pakistan day in the most productive way:
As a Pakistani, we all should celebrate the Pakistan day in the most productive way that it may benefit others and we should contribute as much as we can. We can collect donations for those who are needy. Also, telling your children about the history of Pakistan can be the most productive way.
With the use of social media we should spread awareness by posting about the history and all the efforts our leaders made in this cause. This will make a huge difference in making Pakistan a better place to live and people will know its actual importance.
